One of the things I often get asked by friends and contacts is to sit down with them before they start planning an event and go through the whole process with them step by step. They ask me because I have over a decade of experience in events and have worked on everything from weddings and family parties to huge fundraising galas, awards ceremonies and concerts. Art exhibitions, panel discussions, fashion shows, networking dinners, the list is endless and guests and clients have included celebrities, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and the Royal Family. Budgets and guest lists large and small, I know how to save money as well as spend it and have experience in venues ranging from a custom-built glasshouse to the Tate Modern. Every curve ball there is has been thrown at me, and I have come out the other end with experience that is guaranteed to help anyone who feels a bit overwhelmed and doesn't know where to begin.
That's why I decided to start offering this 1:1 power planning service to a wider audience than the people in my personal network. You might not want to hire an external event manager or wedding planner for budget reasons or maybe you feel confident that you can do it yourself...but you do want reassurance that you're doing the right thing at the right time. Right now, due to the Coronavirus outbreak we can't come together, but our ideas can. I have put together 90 minute power planning sessions where we meet online and I go through every element of your event, giving you the tools you need to tackle the event with confidence and make it a success. I will work with you on your three event cornerstones: budget, guest list and schedule. Then together we will fill in the jigsaw of all the other bespoke components of your event, giving you the foundations and framework to work from. This could include, venues, menus, suppliers, performers, speeches, sponsorship, media, photographers, GDPR, auctions, committees, hosts, comperes, staffing, volunteers, seating plans, whatever concerns you and your event, we will make a detailed plan. After all, failing to plan is planning to fail!
In the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak, all events are on hold and it can be difficult to know what to do in terms of the future. The option of cancel or delay is a sad decision that many are faced with and I can discuss these with you and help you make the right decision and a plan moving forwards. This time can also be a useful period to plan, and make sure that when the time is right you can hit the ground running. For many engaged couples, businesses or individuals holding events there will be increased competition for dates, venues and suppliers as everyone scrabbles to reschedule and having everything in order will really help position you to make fast decisions. For charities, fundraising will be more important than ever, and a special event can bring in significant income to help get you back on track as well as celebrate your cause and refocus your supporters. I have helped raise over £10,000,000 for charities through special events and have extensive experience in this area.
